Neon Pothos

The Neon Pothos is a vibrant and popular houseplant with intense, bright green foliage. It is truly a standout among other pothos varieties. This vining plant is easy to care for and can be grown in hanging baskets, allowed to trail, or trained to climb, adding a cheerful splash of color to any indoor space. Often called "Devil's Ivy" because it's nearly impossible to kill and stays green even in the dark, the standard green variety has been a houseplant staple for decades. The 'Neon' cultivar is a relatively newer development, selectively bred for its striking, bright yellow-green coloration, offering a modern and lively twist on a classic favorite.
Watering 💧: Neon Pothos are quite forgiving when it comes to watering, (I've had great success just growing them hydroponically) but they prefer to dry out somewhat between waterings. You'll notice the leaves starting to droop slightly when they're thirsty.
Temperature 🌡️: This tropical plant thrives in average household temperatures. The ideal range for a Neon Pothos is between 65°F and 85°F. They can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures but are sensitive to cold drafts and extreme drops. Avoid placing them near cold windows in winter or near air conditioning vents.
Light Requirements ☀️: The Neon Pothos prefers bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate lower light conditions, its vibrant neon color will be most intense and striking in brighter environments. In low light, the leaves may revert to a duller green. Avoid direct sunlight, especially the intense afternoon sun, as this can scorch the leaves and cause them to fade or turn yellow. An east or north-facing window is often ideal, or a few feet back from a south or west-facing window. They also love humid conditions, making it the perfect choice for bathroom decor!
Soil Requirements: A well-draining, general-purpose potting mix is suitable for a Neon Pothos. They are not overly particular about soil as long as it drains well and doesn't remain waterlogged. I tend to plant mine in a modified version of my succulent mix that allows more moisture retention, but doesn't hold as much as just straight potting soil.
